1400’s Hand Written Book Of Hours BoH Leaf – Medieval Renaissance Era Paper Art

For sale is this beautiful illuminated leaf from a medieval 1400’s handwritten book of hours. A book of hours was a Christian book that would have included prayers, psalms, scripture, poems, quotes, and daily bible study passages. It would have been used in worship by believers. These were VERY ornate books however, and took much financial backing to make. They would have only been owned by the ultra-wealthy and by organizations such as churches themselves. This particular piece is handwritten in ink. Some initials are illuminated in different ink colors. It is in good condition, however does still have signs of aging. This piece was hand pressed, and is over 500 years old, so expect some wear. Please study the photos carefully so that you have a good idea of condition. This would be an incredible addition to any collection! Don’t pass it up!
